As a part of their new Future Retail program, BMW is beginning to implement new ideas and devices to enhance the sales experience for both the customers and dealership employees. One of these devices is called the Virtual Product Presenter, or the VPP. It consists of a large, high-definition display paired with an Apple iPad containing a special BMW program called the Mobile Customizer. This program contains all of the vehicles in BMW’s current line-up with all colors, options, and packages available for selection so the customer has the chance to pick out exactly what they would like with their new BMW. Since the iPad is connected to the large display, the vehicle is projected onto the screen and can be controlled via the program on the iPad. This gives the customers the chance to see the vehicle from all different angles, inside and out, with fully function compartments, doors, trunk, and sunroof (if applicable). With this new tool, customers can have a much more detailed idea of what the different packages and options cost and what they look like without needing to see it in person. Pair this idea with the expanding number of models and lines in BMW’s fleet and we have a much deeper (but easier) selection process, ultimately giving the customers the perfect set of wheels.
